As of late in late November 2013....

(Typed on Friday, Nov. 29)

Thanksgiving 2013

*Yesterday was Thanksgiving and man, was it OH. SO. DELICIOUS.!!!  I spent it with Levi and had so much fun!!  I'm so glad that he can cook and that he does it so well! Man, I'm so lucky!! I LOVE me some yams & marshmallows! OH YEAH!!! I've gotta say, Thanksgiving food is my fave!   Growing up, we didn't really eat traditional Thanksgiving food.  I think we'd have a Turkey, but we always made something Tongan or Hawaiian to go along with it.  Not too sure why, but man, I love me some Thanksgiving goodness!

*Levi and I went to Wal Mart on Thanksgiving night.  Man....I don't like shopping and this was kinda chaotic!  TONS of people!  I'm so thankful for online shopping!

*I didn't get to bed til almost 2am, this morning....only to wake up about 3 hours later.  Kinda brutal, I'm not gonna lie. Going in early to work didn't sound so smart anymore, when you're actually doing it.  Rough, I tell ya!  Then I worked a 12.5 hour shift to finish up on inventory...brutal. Luckily, I wasn't sleepy, but it sure was a very long day.

*I had a healthy serving of Humble Pie today, at work.  MotorMouth helped me out with an Excel formula that made my work A LOT easier!  Man, I was not ready for that! The rest of the evening was pleasant, which was nice.

*Levi's Christmas gift came today and I'm glad he's so stoked for his Xbox One.  He actually let me play a lil and it was kinda fun.  I'm not really a fan of Call of Duty: Ghosts, as for Zoo Tycoon, that's a different story.....for later.

Dear Friday...

Dear Friday!
I'm thankful you're here.  It's been a rather long week....yet in a way, not really.  I'm happy that you bring the weekend with you.  I've got a rather special friend flying in this weekend.  I'll tell you more about this special friend, later.   I'm also glad you're finally here because that means that my sweetheart will be home in about 2 weeks.  I miss Levi so much.  He's easy on the eyes and makes me laugh A LOT--my two favorite things about him.  What else..... I can't believe that Thanksgiving will be here in less than a week and that Black Friday is in one week.  Man, I can't stand that day, so forgive me if I'm not a fan of you next week.  Well, I've gotta get going, I need to go buy a phone charger and use my gift card at Kohl's.

P.S. Have I mentioned how much I've enjoyed spending time with my nephew, Kalanster?  Man, he's been so dang funny lately! Plus, I love talking to him about music and listening to all the new music that he's written.  He's such a funny and fun kid.  I love him so!

This tastes a little like.....

I had the awesome opportunity to hang with my niece tonight, after dinner.  Before I took her home, we stopped by Wal*Mart to pick up some stuff.  We were both wanting a dessert, so we came across some Snickerdoodle cookies.  Of course, we had to buy them! We LOVE Snickerdoodle cookies!!  As I've taught Novee (and anyone else I've shopped with) never choose the first item on the shelf/rack {more about this concept, at the bottom of this post}, so I reached down and towards the back of the rack.  Score! Welcome to our tummies!
We quickly juggled the other items in our arms and proceeded towards the cash registers. Once we were back to the car, we broke open our drinks and cracked open our cookies! We took our first bites and let it sink in...
"Hmmm, these taste like peanut butter"
"Maybe it's just that one?"
(2 cookies later)
"Geez, these cookies aren't so good. Why don't they taste like Snickerdoodles, or at least Cinnamon?!"
"Maybe they're peanut butter Snickerdoodle cookies?"
"We should stick to just eating the Snickerdoodles from Fresh & Easy, those are the BEST!"
When I got home, I cracked open the box and ate one. These Snickerdoodles still tasted SO off!! How and why?!?! Maybe because we got them from Wal*Mart??  I don't know?!!
Til I closed the box and pushed them aside:

How did we miss this?!?!  Why didn't we turn on the light in the car to check the box!?  Ayeeeee, no wonder why they didn't taste like Snickerdoodle.
Trust your senses people, they just might know what they're tasting......

**Concept: It all started with greeting cards--everyone grabs the first one, to read it.  If you look close, the card is usually bent in the corner and sometimes it's a lil dirty with fingerprints.  So after that, I always grab (at least) the 3rd one back. Why not just grab the last one? I figure, if it's damaged, the person who damaged it will quickly shove it to the back so no one notices it.  Maybe it's crazy to think like this, but it makes sense to me and I'm okay shopping like this.

New Year's Day 2010...probably the VERY best day I've had in a VERY LONG time. I spent NYE with my best friend, Bugs--had pizza and [tried to] watch a couple chick flicks. It was fun just being with her. Since there were crazy drivers on the road I decided to just spend the night at her house. (Gosh I'm grateful for my UBER COMFY Queen size bed). For lunch we went to Bugs' parents house where we had THE BEST homemade Menudo & Tamales. Good food and great company. It was such a relaxing afternoon! And the weather...oh the weather was so beautiful! It must have been 70 degrees!! Hung out on the patio swing having great conversations with her family. It was simply perfect! We later left to the mall to do a lil 'after Christmas' shopping. Found my perfect purple purse! And the sunset that day was amazingly beautiful!! Luckily Bugs and I caught the tail end of that sunset down at the beach. The weather was still very warm-AMAZING weather day!! That evening I had a date with someone I've known for the last 8 years. TOTALLY cute and has such a great, fun personality. I had to drive but that's okay...one day my niece will be able to drive us to the movies. I had the wonderful opportunity of hanging out with my niece and going to any movie of her choice. Chipmunks 2 isn't so bad...the headache I had before the movie didn't get any worse, so that's a good sign, right? All in all I've gotta say, it was a magnificent day!

Saturday.

From one of my favorite movies, "In Her Shoes":

Maggie Feller: Shoes like these should not be locked in a closet! They should be living a life of scandal, and pasion and getting screwed in an alleyway by a billionaire while his frigid wife waits in the limo thinking that he just went back into the bar to get his cellphone. These are cute too.

Rose Feller: Please tell me you just made that up.

Maggie Feller: Look, if you're not going to wear them... don't buy them! Leave them for someone who's going to get something out of them.

Rose Feller: I get something out of them! When I feel bad I like to treat myself. Clothes never look any good... food just makes me fatter... shoes always fit.

After cleaning the chapel today (My ward was suppose to have a 9 & 10am VBall game--NO ONE SHOWED UP!! GRR! So there I was cleaning instead :( ) I went home and had a MUY DELICIOSO breakfast!! Arroz, frijoles, huevos con chorizo y tortillas. (rice, beans, eggs w/ chorizo and tortillas) SO FREAKIN DELICIOUS! Then I went out shoppin' with my bestie Liz [gosh, I dislike that word!], courtesy of Mom & Dad [gosh, I like those words---actually a belated Christmas gift]. We just went to Kohl's & I found 2 casual black shoes (all mine seem to be shades of brown or orange).
One's to hang out---all for the lovely price of $3.99 (Mine aren't polka dot, but have skulls, crosses and paisley on them. I didn't notice the crosses til I got home. EEEK! )

and the other's for whatevers...but they were only $15 and they're Sketchers. ROCK ON!! BUT THEN....I found a CUTEY cute cute purse which is pretty much a Vera Bradley knock off---but I have no problem with that!!

LOVE IT! LOVE IT! LOVE IT!

Maybe I'll just alternate between my real Vera Bradley and my fake one and no one can tell...hmm.... GENIUS! Pathetic, I know.

Anyway, the dialogue above...I have the most shoes here in the house. Sometimes I feel guilty buying more, but seriously, I love shoes. I'm not a huge fanatic about them, I like having choices! I don't have an overabundance of shoes, it's just that I find GREAT deals on them. It's usually difficult to find shoes for my size 11 feet. UGH! However, I love shoes because they always fit. They're quick & easy to try on and they can always make or break an outfit. Did I need them? (define "need")Yes, I think so. If you asked my family that, they'd most likely say no. Eek--let's not ask them then. I feel just like Rose. In fact, as I was debating over which one to get, her quote came to mind. So I thought I'd share it.

And what'd I have for dinner: Steak and crab w/ Potatoes and YUMMY Veggies. LOVED IT!

BUT! I think I'm gettin' sick. NO BUENO!

OH YEAH! And I got summonded for jury duty. SHOOT ME IN MY HEAD! UGH!

OH YEAH AGAIN! My close friend Stephanie had her baby boy yesterday!! A LEAP YEAR BABY!! I LOVE IT!!
