Sometimes, apples are blue.

I'm not gonna lie, I'm pretty ecstatic for my new phone to arrive this week!!!
I've been needing a new phone for a while, but I'm glad Santa Levi got me this new lil gem.  It'll arrive at my work, on Wednesday.  Looking back at last week, when Levi was anxiously awaiting his Xbox One, his excitement and daily tracking of his gift makes total sense.
I've been wanting an Apple for a while, not for any hipster reason, but only for the InstaBooth app.
Yep, an app.
I go crazy every time I hang with Hermanita, cause all I ever want to do is take InstaBooth pics!! It's pretty odd, I know, but I just have a thing for photo booths!! So much fun and a throwback to my pre-teen years!
Anyways....so just 2 more days and I'll have this lil beauty and in my hot lil' hands!

I can see the weekend from here....

-Dude, it's been a long week. I feel like the weekend is forever away.

-Tomorrow night, Levi and I are taking my nephew & niece to the Whaley House.  We didn't have a lot of time to do much else while we were in Old Town last week for Dia de los Muertos.  They've never been so we're looking forward to taking them.  I think Old Town Mexican Restaurant is calling our names.  Love that place!

-I need to get my hair trimmed, this weekend.  I figure if I'm doing a lil Ehu Prep, that I might go for a pedicure as well.   I think this lil pampering will make me feel quite lovely since SharkWeek/Moon Week is this week.  Speakin' of which.....

-I have a friend who created this trippy cool website dedicated to women's menstrual cycles.  Seriously, there's a lot more there than you'd think.  Check it out! I love reading the blogs! Learned quite a bit and enjoyed knowing that I'm not the only one that has rough periods.  I think what's way cool about the website, is that you can order menstrual products from around the world. It comes in a sweet lil package that includes chocolate, tea & limited edition art print.  How cool is that?!?!

-Can I just that I really enjoy where I work?!  The cashiers are sweet and oh so funny! I wish I spoke more Spanish so I could understand all of their jokes.  I'm glad that I work with my sister, she's good at what she does.  The general manager is way funny and I'm glad he appreciates my "kick ass" performance. {those were his words}.  Sometimes I could do without MotorMouth, but what are ya gonna do.  Gotta take the good with the bad. :-/ I like the vibe here and the food here is awesome!

-I'm so glad to have the NutriBullet extractor blade again! Hellooooo smoothies!!!  LOVE IT!!

-For Valentines Day, my sweetheart made me the most beautiful Hope Chest!  I love it. However, I haven't filled it...or put anything in it, AT ALL. I feel bad. I mean, I LOVE to look at it and feel the grain of the woods. It's just so beautiful!  I want to buy & put bed linens in it, but I'm always unsure what size of bed we'll get.  We don't need silverware or plates, so what does that leave me to fill it with? I just want to put something in it so it seems like I truly appreciate it.  I think I need to just roam the aisles of Bed, Bath & Beyond or Ikea til I feel inspired.  Yep, that must be it!

-At work, 98% of the employees are fluent in Spanish.  A lot of them can barely speak Spanish.  I think it's funny when they whisper in front of me. If only they knew.........I don't really speak Spanish.  With all my heart, I wish I could speak Spanish, fluently.  Oh well, someday.....

-Man, it's still Thursday....  I need to do laundry.  I got away with wearing the same two pants this week. The blessing of Febreeze.  Kinda gross but effective.  I can't rotate the same pants 3x in one week, especially since i'm gonna see Levi tomorrow night.  Yep, I'm definitely doing laundry tonight.

Christmas gift.

For the last few weeks, Levi has been gushing about how AWESOME my Christmas present was going to be.  I begged for hints, secretly not wanting them but hoping for tiny hints....he didn't & wouldn't budge!  Every day, for two weeks, I would get a daily count down.  It was like throwing salt on a wound!  A couple days before Christmas, I started to get worried that my enthusiasm wouldn't match his enthusiasm. I didn't want him to think that I didn't appreciate his gift, but I was nervous over his excitement.  He gave me two gifts, one that I could open with my family, then one that I would open at his place.  With a box of chocolate turtles, I received a 32gb memory card.  I wasn't exactly sure what it could be for, so I kept an open mind.
I was handed a small, yet heavy gift box, at his place.  I opened all of his family's gifts first, and kept his  last.  I was nervous. As I ripped the wrapping paper, I saw in bright red letters the word, "REBEL"...then I knew....
I immediately started crying.  How in the world could someone be this giving??  I just couldn't believe it!! I wasn't expecting anything like this, AT ALL!! Part of me was thinking it was going to be a tablet, but man, I was totally blown away.  I just (and still can't) believe it.  I've been wanting a new camera for a while and just haven't made it a priority.
Later that night, we went to Coronado and I started to put my Rebel to use....

I couldn't be more grateful for Levi being so understanding of my love of photography.  Ever since our 2nd date, he's been totally supportive of me always bring along my camera to take photos of our dates and adventures.  My heart is so full love and adoration for this sincerely thoughtful gift.  I don't know if I could ever adequately express my appreciation for this gift.  I feel like I can explore my talent of photography again and I couldn't be more thankful.
Thank you Levi for giving me the tools to express myself artistically again.  I love you so much.

A letter, to the North Pole!

Dear Santa,
My niece has been telling me that I need to put my Christmas wish list together.  I haven't done one of these lists since I was in the single digit ages.  It's not that I don't necessarily believe in you in anymore, it's just that I hardly get the Christmas gifts that I hope for.  In fact, unless I buy my own gift for myself, I'm usually disappointed.  In the last decade, I've stopped getting my hopes up for Christmas gifts, which has put a damper on my Christmas spirit.  I know that's not good, so I'm sorry Santa for not having the Christmas spirit as much as I should.
So to comply with my niece's desire, here is my Christmas wish list for this year....

Isn't she pretty? Oh I would love to get my hands on a DSLR again!

I think this would totally help me enjoy baking more.
It doesn't necessarily have to be an Apple, but I sure love the camera option.

I just love cardigans and I've been wanting a dark purple & mustard cardigans.

I've finally come to realize that Disneyland is the happiest place on earth! I can't help but grin, ear to ear!

I just love the heart pendants from Tiffany, especially this one!
Well Santa, those are most of the items on my Christmas wish list.  I know some items are a bit much, but I'm pretty sure I've been a good girl, this year.  I won't be disappointed if I don't get anything on this list.  This past month, I've come to learn that gifts aren't necessarily something I choose, but something I accept as a token of love and consideration.  Santa, whatever I find under my Christmas tree this year, I'll be grateful, because I've already received the best Christmas present ever - Jesus Christ.

-Ehu.

Be an Organ & Tissue Donor!

As I was renewing my license via internet, I had the option of becoming (actually, continue being) an organ donor and contributing $2 to promote and support organ and tissue donation. I wanted to repost this blog from a year and a half ago about some insightful statistics, facts and information on organ and tissue donations. I feel like this is an incredibly significant cause and wanted to share this with all of you.

The Urgent Need For Organs: As of Sept. 3, 2008, 99,450 men, women and children currently await life saving transplants. Right now nearly 20,000 Californians wait for an organ transplant. Every 12 minutes, another name is added to the national transplant waiting list. An average of 18 people die each day due to the lack of available organs for transplant.

How YOU Can Donate: Indicate your wish on your driver's license or state I.D> when you apply or renew it. Join the donor registry in your state. Visit "http://donatelife.net/" to find out if your state has one. Complete a donor card (available at donate life.net) and keep it with you. Put donation in your will or living will. Tell your family (very important). They may be consulted before donation.

You have the power to donate life: sign up today to become an organ and tissue donor. Your generosity can save up to eight lives through organ donation and enhance another 50 through tissue donation.

You do not have to donate all of your organs: You may specify the ones you will offer. Neither age nor medical history should prevent you from becoming a donor. For more information, visit the official U.S. government Web site for organ and tissue donation at http://www.organdonor.gov./

I appreciate the time and effort you've given to read through this blog. The subject of organ donation is very important to me. Not that I've ever had to participate in it as a recipient, but I feel like it's something that doesn't get too much attention. I think being able to give someone another chance at life is amazing and very self less. Thanks again!
