PADRES HOME OPENER TODAY!!

I'm so stoked for this season! I've been waiting since forever!! I tried to watch Pro Football, but that was kinda boring. It was ok, but really, REALLY-there's nothing like good ol' baseball! I LOVE PADRES BASEBALL!!

Trust

I have a difficulty with trust. I don't usually like going out on a ledge and putting my trust in people. I always have a fear that I'll be hurt in the end, which usually ends up happening anways. I hate that. I know it's not good to 'hate', but I do truly hate getting hurt. I don't like sharing my innermost feelings a lot. And since I don't--I'm often perceived as being 'secretive'. I've trusted several people that were close to me but in the end I was burned. Sometimes I wonder if I should even trust people anymore. I'm glad for the small few that I've been truly able to open up to and trust wholeheartedly.

Lately...

Lately, maybe the last 2 weeks or so, I've been really wishing to move to Hawaii...more so, Maui. I'd been there several times as a child, but the last time I was there was about 2 years ago in August 2006 for my Mom's family reunion. It was a exquisite experience. I truly felt as though I had found paradise. We stayed in Kihei, Maui and our condo was right across the street from the Kama’ole Beaches. As we were swimming around in the ocean that first late afternoon, I remember looking around and thinking “Wow, this is truly paradise. I have never seen anything more beautiful!” Seeing the deep green palm trees swaying on the beach, feeling the refreshing tepid sea water, the balmy island breeze on my face…it was a once in a life time event. I loved it. I wish I had my camera to document that moment. Instead, I took a minute or two to just take it all in, that exquiste sensory moment. I loved it, and have missed it since then.

The rest of the trip was marvelous! Clear and not-so-cold-ocean water...it was GREAT!! I guess you could say I was quite captivated by the beaches...much MUCH different than the beaches in San Diego. LOOK! At that water! It's crystal clear!! Just the right temperature too--what more could you ask for? While in Maui, I wasn't in many photos...well, I should say, I was busy taking photos of everything & everyone else in my family. Gosh, I loved every second of Maui!! I can't wait to go back this summer for another family reunion!!

....................................................
(Makena Beach/"Big Beach" which had shore breaks-not a fan!! and 'blacks beach' right beyond the cliff)

Here's just a couple more of my favorite Hawaii photos...just on Oahu this time. Gosh, I can't wait til this summer...well, maybe I can cause the holidays have definitely taken it's toll on this body--AHHH!!!

...................................................................................
(Ridin' "The Bus" around Oahu...on the way to snag some shave ice from the classic Matsumoto's.)

I love the islands. I'd move there in a second if I could!! I think the only thing I would miss from San Diego, if given the chance, would be my dear friends and muy bueno comida de Mexico!! As learned from my Oahu '06 trip...there's no good taco shops in the 808. Lots of rice and Soyu. Thank goodness my boyfriend's mom made me enchiladas, bless her heart! I was able to survive. I like the island living...the 'easy going' way of life. Weather that was so beautifully compatible to live with...oh gosh, I need to move there. Tomorrow!

The "Book Meme" blog...what?

The Rules:

1. Pick up the nearest book of 123 (or more) pages.
Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden.

2. Open the book to page 123 and find the 5th sentence.
"I'm no more a rival to her than a puddle is a rival to the ocean"

3. Post the next 3 sentences.
"Not in the teahouses of Gion, perhaps. But within your okiya...Don't you find it odd that Mrs. Nitta has never adopted Hatsumomo as her daughter? The Nitta okiya must be the wealthiest in Gion without an heir. By adopting Hatsumomo, not only would Mrs. Nitta solve that problem, but all of Hatsumomo's earnings would then be kept by the okiya, without a single sen of it paid out to Hatsumomo herself."

4. Tag 5 people.
It's Saturday, I'm lazy....YOU!

BAG TAG!!

THE RULES:
1. You have to show your bag
2. Show all the contents in the bag -no cleaning out first!
3. Bag Tag five more people

Ok, so I'm gonna do both of my purses because I tend to switch back and forth, depending on where I'm going or what I'm doing. As for today, I'm currently using the VB bag.

<----I love my F.Vera Bradley bag! It's so small and cute! And I LOVELOVELOVE the colors!! Very spring time! CUTE!

Here's my Japanese bag. I wish I had a cool story of picking it up in Osaka, the last time I was there -but I don't :(Actually, Bugs bought it for me at the Mission Valley mall at a lil kiosk. I love it because it's so random, cool and different. DEFINITELY my type of purse!----->

Here's my wallet, maybe I should have turned it over. There's cherries on the other side. But I like seeing the guy on my Hollister card-he's so cute! I love this wallet, it's small and has a zipper part for coints. Just perfect! Not a lot of money on me, since I'm a firm believer of plastic! Just loose change...

The electronics plus 2 pens: Ok, so that's not MY camera, but my brother's cam looks EXACTLY like mine--just a lil darker. Not my cell phone-since I'm anti-cell, it's my Mom's. I always feel 15 y/o when I mention that it's her's. my corrupted iPod, my sister's iPod radio adapter, my AWESOME earphones that fit perfectly in my ear and cancel out every other nose out there :) and my girly pens-I think that's the most embarassing part actually.

The Necessities: CARMEX & POLAR ICE GUM!! I CANNOT leave home with out them! The cherry carmex is nice every so often. I still prefer the regular one though. The lip gloss on the left is WONDERFUL! I love it! Caramel Latte from Bath & Body works-flavorful & shiny with a lil bit of color! PERFECT! Halls--not mine, for my niece who's sick..and of course, half gum wrappers....I only chew a half stick of gum at a time. A whole stick is too much gum at once.

Reminants in my Japanese purse: A heart pin received for making a donation to a childrens' charity. Jake bought it for me on Vday at AMC theatre (Went to see "The Bucket List"--GREAT movie!). More loose change, extra shoelaces for my Sketchers, Carmex-of course:), Visine for my ALWAYS dry contacts & solution for when they get too irritable to wear, Bazooka gum? Oh yeah, got it at a ward social, receipts and a really neat silver sharpie!

I'm actually surprised not to have a million gum wrappers in my purse. But there's my simple lil purse in a nutshell.

What's in your bag?

EXHAUSTED!!

SSSSSSSIIIIIIIIIIIGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!

Today was my first day substituting as a 'Health/Attendance' clerk at an elementary school. OH MY GOODNESS!! I'm so tired and I was only there for 4 hours!! I would never want to imagine spending a WHOLE day there!! I had at least 20 kids come in with some sort of ailment! Headache, stomach ache, chest pain, whizzing, painful leg and/or finger, medications, wet pants and soiled pants.

I'm so exhausted.

On top of all that fun stuff, I had paper work to fill out for each one--as well as keep track of every kid that came in needing to take their medication. I'm so GRATEFUL that the school's nurse was in today because the icing on the cake was when a kid was brought in from the playground with a HOLE in the back of his head--BLEEDING PROFUSELY, ALL OVER HIS SHIRT!! OH MY HECK!! I couldn't believe it! With all the Anatomy & Pathology classes and cadaver labs, I was not expecting to see that--nor wanted to. I was just standing there, holding medical cards, staring at this kid's head. I think the nurse's office came to a stand still--because really, REALLY, who expects to see that?!?! I KNOW I DIDN'T! So the nurse helped him out by applying pressure to his head and tried to calm his nerves. OBVIOUSLY she's a nurse, a good one at that. I would have F.R.E.A.K.E.D. out had she not been there today...probably called 911 & quit the job, as well. But she took care of him, called his parents and he was sent home. DAAAAAAAAAANNGGG!!

Dude, I don't EVER want to go back!

EVER.

Saturday.

From one of my favorite movies, "In Her Shoes":

Maggie Feller: Shoes like these should not be locked in a closet! They should be living a life of scandal, and pasion and getting screwed in an alleyway by a billionaire while his frigid wife waits in the limo thinking that he just went back into the bar to get his cellphone. These are cute too.

Rose Feller: Please tell me you just made that up.

Maggie Feller: Look, if you're not going to wear them... don't buy them! Leave them for someone who's going to get something out of them.

Rose Feller: I get something out of them! When I feel bad I like to treat myself. Clothes never look any good... food just makes me fatter... shoes always fit.

After cleaning the chapel today (My ward was suppose to have a 9 & 10am VBall game--NO ONE SHOWED UP!! GRR! So there I was cleaning instead :( ) I went home and had a MUY DELICIOSO breakfast!! Arroz, frijoles, huevos con chorizo y tortillas. (rice, beans, eggs w/ chorizo and tortillas) SO FREAKIN DELICIOUS! Then I went out shoppin' with my bestie Liz [gosh, I dislike that word!], courtesy of Mom & Dad [gosh, I like those words---actually a belated Christmas gift]. We just went to Kohl's & I found 2 casual black shoes (all mine seem to be shades of brown or orange).
One's to hang out---all for the lovely price of $3.99 (Mine aren't polka dot, but have skulls, crosses and paisley on them. I didn't notice the crosses til I got home. EEEK! )

and the other's for whatevers...but they were only $15 and they're Sketchers. ROCK ON!! BUT THEN....I found a CUTEY cute cute purse which is pretty much a Vera Bradley knock off---but I have no problem with that!!

LOVE IT! LOVE IT! LOVE IT!

Maybe I'll just alternate between my real Vera Bradley and my fake one and no one can tell...hmm.... GENIUS! Pathetic, I know.

Anyway, the dialogue above...I have the most shoes here in the house. Sometimes I feel guilty buying more, but seriously, I love shoes. I'm not a huge fanatic about them, I like having choices! I don't have an overabundance of shoes, it's just that I find GREAT deals on them. It's usually difficult to find shoes for my size 11 feet. UGH! However, I love shoes because they always fit. They're quick & easy to try on and they can always make or break an outfit. Did I need them? (define "need")Yes, I think so. If you asked my family that, they'd most likely say no. Eek--let's not ask them then. I feel just like Rose. In fact, as I was debating over which one to get, her quote came to mind. So I thought I'd share it.

And what'd I have for dinner: Steak and crab w/ Potatoes and YUMMY Veggies. LOVED IT!

BUT! I think I'm gettin' sick. NO BUENO!

OH YEAH! And I got summonded for jury duty. SHOOT ME IN MY HEAD! UGH!

OH YEAH AGAIN! My close friend Stephanie had her baby boy yesterday!! A LEAP YEAR BABY!! I LOVE IT!!
