No one tells you....
1. Not to randomly pack your phone's charge cord and forget which bag/suitcase/box it's in.
2. Again, see above, but replace "phone charge cord" with "toothbrush".
3. That it's physically, mentally, emotionally, financially, etc, draining.
Ok that's about it. But man, #2 was brutal yesterday. I didn't have enough time to go to the store and buy one before church. I tried not to talk to many people or smile because I just felt gross.
On a lighter note....
So this whole idea of "No Guys May" is gettin a lil old. There's this guy in my ward (congregation) that is SO. DANG. ADORABLE.!!! Seriously, I see him and I just want to hug him!! And I LOVE LOVE LOVE the way he sounds when he talks. There's just something so adorably charming about the way he sounds and how his mouth moves. *SWOON* Last Monday, he walked in a lil late to FHE and oh man, my heart skipped a beat!! Before, I could easily talk to "Iam", now it's a lil more difficult. I got to see him at church, yesterday. Oh man, SO cute. He passed Sacrament to me, and then lined up, right in front of me. I was about 4 feet from his Piriformis and couldn't help but look at it, especially since his wallet was bulging from his back pocket. (FYI: from a Massage Therapist point of view, it's bad for you. I'll explain later.) I wish I had more to talk to him about... The first time I ever talked to him, it was out of thin air about sports. I can't wait til church on Sunday. Since it's Mother's Day, I'll probably see him since my sister's giving a talk in her ward, which happens to be his family (aka: his Mother's) ward. Oh yes!
Ok, I've gotta go finish unpacking.

Food for thought....
Since I woke up this morning I've been thinking about men & age.
Specifically, Montana and Cubby came to mind. Montana is 30 but acts and seems SO MUCH OLDER. I feel like we don't relate sometimes. I then started to think of Cubby. He's 22 years old but doesn't seem like it. I asked him once if my age ever bothered him [I'm 30], he said I don't act like my age or older than him in any way. He asked me likewise and I told him that I didn't notice an age gap at all. Cubby then said it's like we meet in the middle. I liked that. So I came to the conclusion that what I needed to date were younger, yet mature men. Ok, I could do that.
Tonight, I got a bit bored/overwhelmed with my essay homework, so I laid back on my bed and did some pondering. I started to wonder, 'Why do people get married?' Some get married because it's the next step in life...others because they want to start a family....a few, to have sex....there were several different reasons. I started to really think about why I would even consider such a thing. Then something started to make sense... some get married because they want to be with that person for a long time. A very VERY long time. They don't want to have to say 'good night' at the end of the night or wait to see them the next day.
In the midst of all this pondering, I texted FishLips. I just wanted to know how old he felt. Texting led to a phone call. A phone call led to some really good advice to consider. I told him of my 'men & age' woes. He suggested that maybe I just need to find someone that I can relate to. I never quite thought of it that way. I think that was always just an afterthought, after my list of my "ideal" man. Then he shared something else with me. He told me how his Mom, upon returning home from a date, would ask if he missed his date after he got home. To miss someone.... Hmm. More food for thought. It made me think back to what I was pondering earlier..."some get married because they want to be with that person for a long time".
So IF I ever come across that bridge of dating & marriage, THEN I'll need to keep in mind that I should look for someone who I can relate to as well as someone I long to be with.
Just something to ponder about on a Monday night.....

The Car Analogy.
I was thinking last night about my previous car, my Kia Sportage. It was stick (manual), had four doors and was very bright & airy. I didn't like the inadequate amount of cup holders or the fact that in time the back passenger door couldn't be used and the brakes made a horrific nose--but I put up with it, I accepted it. About a year ago I bought my lovely Honda Accord. I love how it's Ruby Red, has a sun/moonroof and gets great gas mileage. There are certain things that I love about my Honda that makes it VERY easy to forget all about my ol' Kia. However, there are also things I miss about my ol' Kia, things that were comfortable and familar.
When I first got my Honda, it was like a 'shiny, new toy'. It was extremely easy to forget about that heap of junk Kia. It had upgrades and totally new features...things my Kia didn't have. In time, I started to miss having four doors, I missed the height (being up a lil higher, compared to a car), all the memories that were made in the car, the ease and power of a manual car....ya know, the little things--things the Honda couldn't provide. But would I want to go back to the Kia? No, not necessarily, the upgrade of a newer car was a lot better! But I missed the familiarity and comfort of something I've known for a very long time. Of course I'd have to adapt to the Honda and have since. I love it but I'm grateful for my experience with the Kia. It's helped me appreciate what I have now.
That's how I feel about my Ex and the men I have in my life now. I miss my Ex, but things can't go back to the way they were. He was a chapter in my life, just like my Kia. I will always be grateful for the time I had with the 'Kia', but I know that my 'Honda' is a much better choice...or maybe the Honda's just in my life temporarily and something better will come along? I wish I could have both in my life, but that's not really an option.
Oh well..... that's just my thoughts on a very rainy Tuesday afternoon.

Yesterday.
Yesterday my office had our biweekly softball game. I wasn't exactly sure how to get there, so I asked Mr.NY if he would drive over with me. He agreed but informed me that we would need to stop by his place first so he could change. After work, PajamaPants and his two friends met us at our work. I handed the keys off to Mr.NY and Ruliss so they could wait in my car while I talked to PajamaPants. As I walked up to my car, Mr.NY jokingly said, "Want me to drive?". Knowing that he was joking, I told him that he'd be driving us from his place to the game. We got to his place and he jumped out to go change. In the meanwhile I changed my shoes and jumped in the passenger's seat. (Heck yes I was going to have him drive--plus, I LOVE when a man drives). As he approached the car, he jumped in, threw his stuff to the back and started up the car. Off we went....
Can I just say, that I loveLOVElove being treated like a lady? I love when he drives, it feels so chivalrous. I like the way I feel with him. I feel safe, I trust him. I've only ever felt that way with 2 other men in my life, my brother Dave and PajamaPants. I know that when I'm with them, I have absolutely NOTHING to worry about. I love that feeling. That's a feeling I grew up with and the feeling I desire to have with a future spouse. I don't know how to explain how I feel about Mr.NY. Whenever I'm with him, he always takes control of the situation and I never have a thing to worry about. Do you know how gratifying that feels? For that reason alone, it makes me like him. A lot. :)
