These boots were made for.....me!

Dear Santa,
I want these.
It's not a need, but they sure do look pretty.
Love,
Ehu

I ducked into Payless on Saturday, and came across these lil beauties.  I jokingly told Levi that I wanted to wear cowboy boots to an upcoming wedding we're to attend, since it sounded like there's a theme.  I didn't think I'd actually come across a pair of boots in my size!!! Seriously, I think they're cute! and oh so random for a Poly girl to wear!
They remind me a lot of the boots I had as a lil girl.  I remember how much I loved those boots, I wore them all the time.  They were such a hassle to put on and most especially to take off!  I remember when I was in first grade, I'd come home and my Mom would have my brother Wayne pull them off my feet.  I'd have to lay down on the floor, and he'd have to tug at them for a while til they finally came off my feet.  I don't think I enjoyed that part so much, but I do recall wearing those boots ALL the time.
It's funny the lil memories that come flooding back, just by a pair of shoes......or cowboy boots

Friday the 13th!

Sometimes, it's not so bad when a black cat crosses your path...

These lil beauties arrived today and I couldn't be any happier!!
I've been wanting T.U.K. Mary Janes for a long while...probably about 3 years now, so to finally find them in my size, in desired style & nice price range ($30 instead of $65) I just had to get them!!
I was worried they wouldn't be my size, width wise, but they're just perfect.
PERFECT!
I can't wait to wear them with everything!

And to buy more styles, too.

Today, Tonight & Tomorrow

*Today, I...
...spent time with my two youngest nephews.
....was reminded again of how awesome my nephews are and blessed to have them more as younger brothers.
.....found the coolest pairs of Vans! {for the low price of $32 for BOTH! Score!}
*Tonight, I...
..got to see Houston for about 15 minutes and I enjoyed every single second of it.
...couldn't finish this day without hearing Houston's voice. As busy as he was writing up evals, we talked.  He makes me laugh and smile and anticipate the next time I'll see him (HOPEFULLY on Wednesday, which isn't soon enough!!).
....fell in love with this photo (a cell pic from my cousin):

*Tomorrow, I....
...get to have Volleyball practice with my Young Women. Oh I love those girls.
....have to start thinking of my big date with Houston on February 29. I'm SO excited! It has to be extra special because it is a leap year day.
......will be celebrating Jonah's birthday.
........grow giddy til I get to talk to Houston.

"Age appropriate" clothes?

Tonight, I was reading the newspaper, skimming over store ads and "window shopping" online.  I started to think about stuff I wear and how I wish I could/would dress.  I know I'm 31 year old (man, I still don't like saying that aloud :( )  and I don't think, feel or act like a 31 year old....maybe I look like it? Gosh, I hope not... maybe I really should start wearing SPF +1000 on my face?
Well anyways, back to my point...
In my ideal world, I would wear:

With jeans, cute cardigans and accessories, of course!  You know, so I don't look like I'm 15 or something.

**I guess I posted this for more reasons than one.... I'm kinda not the best dresser. I'm either too casual or too over the top.   I wish I could live in board shorts, hoodie sweaters and Reef slippers--but I can't, as much as I'd like to think I can, living in San Diego.  I just wish I was one of those "cutesy" type of dressers.... *sigh* someday.... :)

Always a bridesmaid.....

Oh yeah, I forgot....
A friend asked me to be one of her bridesmaids today.
I'm so pleased do to this for my friend, Humi.  I love her dearly!
I wasn't expecting it AT ALL!! It was a shock when she asked me because I didn't even see it coming. I thought we were talking about Relief Society related stuff....and then I got the curveball.
WOW. I haven't been a bridesmaid since I was 17.
It'll be late November.  I have to find a navy blue dress, that's to my knees and silver shoes.

I think I found what I want....
I like the style of this dress and it's LDS appropriate/modest.  And the shoes are just right! Simple :)  I'm not a fan of heels, especially when you're a bridesmaid (aka: on your feet ALLLLLLLLLLLLL day & night!).
I'm pretty stoked! Wow....a wedding.  Always a bridesmaid, never a bride ;)

In the end, I hope this happens:

p.s. Wait---does this mean I have to find a wedding date?!? Ugggggh, man..... seriously?!?! Dangit... And I thought the hard part was trying to find the dress & shoes?!  I wonder what Mr. Red's doing that day? Hmmm......

I guess I could go with these shoes instead...they do seem more "wedding'ish":
It has a slight heel, which won't put me too much taller than the other girls, it's silver and looks somewhat comfy for ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL day and night? Suck it up, Ehu, this is part of being a woman!

Uh, should I be embarrassed?

The more I look at them I wonder...good purchase? or bad bad purchase?

I first came across these shoes 3 years ago during massage school. Every time I seen them, I thought "Why is she wearing gardening shoes during winter?".

Then my brother bought some, but he had a different version. I wear them every so often if I have to run outside for a sec...uber comfy.

Every time I give a massage and walk into my clients' homes, I always remove my shoes. Sometimes it's so cumbersome to put my massage table & bag down in order to puy my shoes on. I often wish I just had shoes to slip on and off.

Well today when I seen some at Costco, I thought "Hmm, $15 for some pretty pink ones? Why not?" [There wasn't any red left in my size:( ]

So now I'm the proud/embarrassed owner of pink Crocs/Gardening shoes.

update: 6/14/08

Wore those #!$%!@& shoes to Sea World last night. I forgot that even though they're comfy---they're still new. Here's the 2 lil tokens I came home with. (TMI-sorry) If you look at the shoe above, they're from the black 'button' inside the shoe. Nice, reaaalll nice.

Kinky!

...Boots, that is.

So I was home today and did a lil channel surfing when I came across this movie. From the title alone, it seems a lil questionable. But then I remembered wanting to see this film from previews a year ago. OH MAN!! I really like this movie!! HELLO--it's about shoes!! How can I not like this movie??

(Quick movie synopsis: It features Charlie Price, who is trying to save the family business and travels to London to get ideas. In a fluke encounter he meets sassy drag queen performer Lola, the alter ego of Simon, and sees the possible market of shoes for male transvestites. With the styling eye of Lola, Charlie leads the traditional shoe factory to design and produce numerous shoes for the catwalk in Milan, Italy.)

I ended up watching the last half with me Mum. It was a lil awkward at first because I didn't know what her reaction would be towards a movie with drag queens. Surprisingly, she was cool with it and liked the shoes!

My favorite quotes---(and there's several throughout the movie):

Charlie: I'd like to measure you for it, go home, make a pair.
Lola: Who gets to keep the boots? A little warning, t
he answer is, "You do, Lola."
Charlie: You do, Lola.
---------------------
Lauren: Look, you'll have to excuse Charlie. We don't have many transvestites in Northampton.
Lola: I'm not merely a transvestite, sweetheart. I'm also a drag queen. It's a simple equation. A drag queen puts on a frock, looks like Kylie. A transvestite puts on a frock, looks like... Boris Yeltsin in lipstick. There, I said it.
---------------------
Anyways, great movie! Definitely check it out!

Saturday.

From one of my favorite movies, "In Her Shoes":

Maggie Feller: Shoes like these should not be locked in a closet! They should be living a life of scandal, and pasion and getting screwed in an alleyway by a billionaire while his frigid wife waits in the limo thinking that he just went back into the bar to get his cellphone. These are cute too.

Rose Feller: Please tell me you just made that up.

Maggie Feller: Look, if you're not going to wear them... don't buy them! Leave them for someone who's going to get something out of them.

Rose Feller: I get something out of them! When I feel bad I like to treat myself. Clothes never look any good... food just makes me fatter... shoes always fit.

After cleaning the chapel today (My ward was suppose to have a 9 & 10am VBall game--NO ONE SHOWED UP!! GRR! So there I was cleaning instead :( ) I went home and had a MUY DELICIOSO breakfast!! Arroz, frijoles, huevos con chorizo y tortillas. (rice, beans, eggs w/ chorizo and tortillas) SO FREAKIN DELICIOUS! Then I went out shoppin' with my bestie Liz [gosh, I dislike that word!], courtesy of Mom & Dad [gosh, I like those words---actually a belated Christmas gift]. We just went to Kohl's & I found 2 casual black shoes (all mine seem to be shades of brown or orange).
One's to hang out---all for the lovely price of $3.99 (Mine aren't polka dot, but have skulls, crosses and paisley on them. I didn't notice the crosses til I got home. EEEK! )

and the other's for whatevers...but they were only $15 and they're Sketchers. ROCK ON!! BUT THEN....I found a CUTEY cute cute purse which is pretty much a Vera Bradley knock off---but I have no problem with that!!

LOVE IT! LOVE IT! LOVE IT!

Maybe I'll just alternate between my real Vera Bradley and my fake one and no one can tell...hmm.... GENIUS! Pathetic, I know.

Anyway, the dialogue above...I have the most shoes here in the house. Sometimes I feel guilty buying more, but seriously, I love shoes. I'm not a huge fanatic about them, I like having choices! I don't have an overabundance of shoes, it's just that I find GREAT deals on them. It's usually difficult to find shoes for my size 11 feet. UGH! However, I love shoes because they always fit. They're quick & easy to try on and they can always make or break an outfit. Did I need them? (define "need")Yes, I think so. If you asked my family that, they'd most likely say no. Eek--let's not ask them then. I feel just like Rose. In fact, as I was debating over which one to get, her quote came to mind. So I thought I'd share it.

And what'd I have for dinner: Steak and crab w/ Potatoes and YUMMY Veggies. LOVED IT!

BUT! I think I'm gettin' sick. NO BUENO!

OH YEAH! And I got summonded for jury duty. SHOOT ME IN MY HEAD! UGH!

OH YEAH AGAIN! My close friend Stephanie had her baby boy yesterday!! A LEAP YEAR BABY!! I LOVE IT!!
