Two months later...

I'm sick. I think I got Levi sick too. No bueno. We left early from church today because I was about to have a coughing fit in the middle of Sacrament meeting. I'm thankful Levi could drive new home. I'm so grateful to have a partner as caring as he.

Yesterday, we went to Levi's sister's baby shower.
It was so nice to see his family. They are all so very kind and have been warm & welcoming since I met them. I'm thankful for that. I'm lucky.

I enjoy seeing all of my father-in-law's wooden creations. I appreciate the time & talent put into his pieces. I'm grateful that he taught Levi this wonderful talent.
On Friday, we went to see Dr. Strange. It was pretty good and I always enjoy watching the Marvel movies with Levi.

The evening before, my friend and colleague Chuy (or did I call him Chewy before?) married his high school sweetheart.
It was a fun reception although I'm so bummed that I hit traffic and missed the ceremony. The bride walked into the Up song. Levi had to work and I miss having him by my side.
This is CJ. She trained me for my current position. I couldn't be more grateful for such a patient, funny, helpful & kind colleague and friend.

I'm sad that this 4 day weekend has come to a close, most especially since we're both under the weather.
Bummer. 👎

Life...in early April.

*As of late, my life is mostly work.  Do I like my job? Well, I like what I do and now I'm starting to train for covering reception.  Oh man, a lil daunting, but I think I can definitely hang.  It's a different phone set up and making sure we connect the caller to the right "account manager" or one of their team members, is still something I'm learning to do...especially since everyone goes by their initials.  Eh, it's part of the job so I'll do what I gotta do.

*I'm so glad I've made a friend at work, Tina is pretty chill and I'm glad that she gets my jokes.  It's just cool having someone understand how I feel about work, since we started within a week of each other.

*This past week, I was able to reconnect with some ol' friends.  I LOVE spending time with dear, old friends.
Tat, the the guy on the left, and I have been friends since single digit Primary days.  Dixie's in back and we've been friends since 2007, right around the same time I met Hermanita, on the right.  As each year passes, I'm ever so grateful to have the same group of close friends.  They're friends who accept me exactly how I am and know me so well, and vice versa.

*Levi and I went to see Captain America 2, today.  Oh maaaaaaaan, I totally dug it!  So dang good!! I liked it more than the first, since it had more fighting scenes.  I'm not gonna lie, Capt. America is easy on the eyes, but it's really Iron Man that wins me over EVERY TIME!  He has AWESOME toys and his intelligence is definitely something to admire....along with that cocky attitude.  But I don't need a superhero.... I already have my Mr. Amazing ♥

Random + Character Reference + Life in March

*Tonight, one of my best friends asked me to write a character reference letter for their court appearance.  Of course this was easy to do, because I have nothing bad to say about this person.  It made me think of what would be said for me, if I was ever in need of such a reference letter.  I guess it's the same for what I hope is said in my obituary some day.... I hope it's filled with good and funny things.

*My sister's birthday was this past Wednesday.  We chatted that day, but I wasn't able to call or visit her.  Perhaps I'll swing by tomorrow, since I'll be down in her neck o' woods for....

*My Dad's birthday is tomorrow...I guess technically today.  I can't believe how old he is.  Time flies by so quickly.  Sometimes I look at him and wish he were 50 years younger.  I often wonder what it would be like to have been friends with my parents, at my age.   Sometimes I miss his laugh and his funny jokes, especially his magic tricks.  I'm glad I get to see my Dad tomorrow.

*Work is going pretty well, at least I think so.   Sometimes it's very interesting reading through certain court documents, as I prepare case files.  So far, I like everyone I work with.  Everyone's so nice, welcoming and positive.  I would most certain enjoy working there for MANY years to come.  A chick was fired this last week, oh man, it made me remember when I was fired once.  Dude, once you're fired you NEVER want to relive that experience again.  I felt for her because it all happened in about 2 minutes!  I don't know what she did or didn't do, but damn it definitely lit a fire under my butt because for the rest of the afternoon I pumped out those case files like no one's business!

*Jackass 3D just came on tv (censored)....oh man, some of that junk makes me crack up!!  Duck Hunting--YES!!!

*Levi and I went to see 300: Rise of an Empire today.  Intense!!

*Hermanita and I went to San Diego Home Cooking this past Thursday.  Oh man, SUPER FRIGGIN DELISH!! I was tellling Tat about it, and now we'll be going back on Tuesday with Brighty.  It's like a cross between Denny's and Marie Callender's.  Their buns are THE BEST!!*

*Ok, it's late and a big beautiful, luxurious bed is calling out for me! G'nite!

Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow.

YESTERDAY:  Levi and I had dinner and ate TONS of crab legs.  My mouth is watering just thinking of all the crab legs we had for dinner.  It was scrumptious!!!!  Especially when paired with BBQ pork ribs! LOVE IT!!

TODAY:  I was able to talk with my very best friend MamaSteph.  I miss her so much!! It's been 5 years since we've seen each other.
FAR.  TOO.  LONG.
I can't wait til we're hanging out again, like real friends do.  I miss seeing her facial expressions, while she laughs and most especially watching her hands as she tells her stories.  I miss her completely and terribly!

I also got to spend time with Mr. Red today.  I am going to miss him so much, but I'll blog about that later...

TOMORROW:  I can't wait to see Levi.  We're going to the drive-in to watch The Croods & G.I. Joe.  I seriously LOVE the drive in!!  I think I'm more infatuated with being able to talk during a movie and not disturbing anyone....except Levi.  Oh how I fall more and more in love with him.

Drive In Date!

Yesterday, Levi and I had a hard time trying to decide what we were going to do for a date.  At the last minute we decided we'd try the drive in, to see Mama....and luckily at the drive-in, it's always a two-for-one special, for $7!  I haven't been to the South Bay drive-in since Lion King came out, mid-90's.
Oh man, can I just say that I am now the biggest fan of drive in theaters!! Seriously, I LOOOOOOVED it!!!!!

1. 2 movies for $7 (one admission)
2. Volume control - which was great since my ears are congested.
3. I can talk, comment and crack jokes as much as I want.
4. We can bring in food, drinks and blankets.
5. Seat control.
6. I can stand whenever I want, walk around and just stretch at any time.
7. Listening to the oldies music, before the [drive-in] movie, made me feel like we were in 1950's.

I'm a huge fan of just being able to move around and make noise as much as I want.  Besides, it was just a fun date.  As much as I love going on movie dates, it's hard to connect with someone during the movie. However, at a drive-in it's ok to talk as much as you want -  as long as the other person/people with you don't mind. {So glad Levi is SO easy going.}  Last night was probably one of my top 3 favorite dates with Levi! I would HIGHLY recommend everyone and anyone to head to a drive-in near them! SOON!

Valentines Day....

I FINALLY watched Valentines Day and man, that was pretty funny! Mamacita had been telling me about this movie for years, and I wish I watched it sooner!  I also like the movie, I Hate Valentines Day--so dang funny.
As I've been looking up Valentines ideas on Pinterest, for my niece, I can't help but look forward to Valentines Day!  Growing up, my Dad always made a big deal about it.  He always went to See's Candy to get a box of candy for my Mom and I, and then later my sister when she married into the family.  We'd also receive a bouquet of flowers, along with our chocolates.  I remember one particular Valentines Day, when I was 12, he took us all to Tom Hams Lighthouse restaurant for a lovely dinner. Even though he's blind now,  he still makes sure I buy chocolates and flowers for him, to give to my Mom.  I'm glad he still makes a big deal out of Valentines Day, for her, my sister, niece & I.  That's probably my favorite thing about my Dad.
But I'm excited for Valentines Day.  I think it's because Christmas was so much fun decorating for and celebrating.
I think I'll go buy myself some pink roses on Valentines Day.  Every time I see them at Costco, I can't help but want to buy them....but I'm usually on my way to somewhere else and I don't want them to just sit in the car.  Pink roses are my favorite flowers.  I think they're just so pretty and girly, and I love them more than red roses.  I can't wait for Valentines Day.... I just might go buy them sooner than that.
Oh Valentines Day.....you've already got me twitterpated.

As of late, in mid December...

*Mama McK is in town. Oh how I love this woman! I'm so excited to introduce her to my sweetheart!

*I need to finish my Christmas shopping this week. Man, oh man.... and then start my parents' Christmas shopping, too.  Oh man...

*I went to see The Hobbit yesterday.  Kinda interesting.  Something I wouldn't have seen on my own, but I'm glad I went to see it.  Kinda makes me want to watch Lord of the Ring now.

*My ward Christmas party was on Friday. It was nice to share it with Levi.  I'm thankful for this past year of being able to become better friends with those in my ward.  They are great people with kind hearts.  It was hard to see that at first, because I had (still have) such a great love for my friends back at CVYSA ward.  I'm grateful for the friends I have in PB!  I couldn't be happier!

*My heart hurts for those families affected by the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. How very sad and heart wrenching that they have lost a loved one, during this time of year.  What a selfish and evil act by this heartless individual!

*Today in church, a woman shared her experience as an occupational therapist for the military.  She shared the downside of her job, and all the horror stories she hears from soldiers who come back from war.  Tears flowed down her face as she expressed the hardship of hearing such terrible experiences.  It made my heart sad and grateful for those willing soldiers who leave the comfort of home, family & safety so that we can enjoy our freedom.

*While singing in ward choir today, I became more grateful for my Savior, Jesus Christ.  Sometimes, I have to concentrate a lil harder on not crying while singing, because I just can't help but be touched by the lyrics.
I have a great love for Jesus Christ.  I have come to know Him as my Savior and my dear friend.  When my grandmother passed away, while on my mission, and I was far from home, I didn't feel alone.  I knew that I had someone that knew exactly how I felt.  That was when I gained my testimony of the Atonement and Jesus Christ as my Savior. I'll always be grateful for that experience and the way I was able to grow at such a low moment in my life.  I'm truly thankful for this time of year that we, as a world, get to reflect on our Savior's birth.  Because He lived, we can all live again.  This I know to be true.

My life....starting Nov. 12:

My 3 week plan, pt. 1:

I've never watched Star Wars.  I saw the one that came out in 2005 and a roommate had a Star Wars marathon, but I didn't really watch them.  I'm kinda excited to see what the fuss is all about.

Silent Movie Night!

I LOVE Silent Movie Night in Balboa Park! It's a fun Summer activity and it's definitely a different type of movie-watching experience!
Tonight, we watched, Hot Water, from 1924!!  It was good! I loved it! It just made me think of how simple movies use to be....yet they were very entertaining.  I also love the fact that the organist played during the entire 59 minutes of the movie!!  What an awesome talent!!  It was such a fun night!  And I'm so glad that so many ward friends (& family) were able to make it!  It made the night much more fun!

I love any chance I get to hang out with my wonderful friend, PajamaPants!  He can make me laugh like no other!  I'm so blessed that we're still friends! I love him dearly!

Glad my niece and sister were able to experience the thrill of "Silent Movie Night" in Balboa Park!

My new friend, WiseGuy came and I got him to do a Shake Face photo! Oh man, those are my favorite pics! WiseGuy's a fun guy.  We were playing "Where's My Perry" on his phone, while we waited for movie to start.  I felt like we were 10 year old kids just hangin out, without the awkward sexual tension.  I love it when a guy & girl can just be friends.  He's pretty cool!

All in all, it was fun! I made [Hawaiian] Chicken Long Rice and shared it with some of my friends (those who didn't bring something to eat).  Can I just say, I love cooking for others! I'm glad they all liked it!

Next up....
Lunch with Mr.Red tomorrow.  G'nite.

The "No More Wasted Weekends!" post.

*I love listening to this "I am a Mormon" video:
I love this version of "Teach Me to Walk in the Light" on the Ukulele! It's so sweet!

*My sister, niece and I went to watch The Avengers today.  Oh man, LOOOOOOOVED IT!!!!!!!!! Captain America is SOOO HOT!!!! As well as Thor and I just love Iron Man! My sister and I started to feel really sick after the movie.  I don't know if it was because we OD'd on movie popcorn and Coke Zero or what! But seriously, I wanted to throw up. I'm thinking it could have been all of that, plus the fact that we were sitting in the 3rd row of the theatre.  I felt dizzy at times during the movie because we were so close and due to so many of the fast moving scenes.  Never again!

*I'm currently spending the night at Reed's house, watching her four kids.  I love these kids so much.  I was suppose to go to her birthday party before heading over to her house to babysit, but since I was sick, I skipped it.  When I showed up to take over for the teenage girl who was watching the kids earlier, I bid her goodbye and to have a great evening, she said, "Oh yeah! Time for my social life!"  It made met think, "Whoa, wait a second! You're a teenager with a "social life" and I'm spending my night in babysitting?? What?!?"  She was practically skipping towards the door and right out into the night.  Seriously, this needs to change.  This is my 3rd weekend that I haven't done anything. I mean, I know tonight I was suppose to go out, but got sick.  The last 2 weekends I was moving and unpacking.  Next weekend is Memorial Day weekend, I need to make something MEMORABLE about it!  If a teenager can have a social life, so can I! C'mon Ehu, what happened to your spunk?!?!?  Get with it!

*I talked with Vans today.  I'm glad we're friends.  He's seeing someone now.  I'm starting to wonder if I'm the only one single amongst my non-married friends?!  Geez, seriously, I need to start doing something and doing something FAST!  I think I'm gonna hit up the SD Single Adult Memorial Day Conference next weekend.  I NEED to do something and meet people, this is gettin' kinda pathetic!

*Ok, I need to go make a ti-leaf lei before it gets way too late. Hermana R is leaving the mission field with her husband, their time is up and they're headed home.  Tomorrow's their last Sunday as well as Stake Conference.  I will always be so grateful I was blessed to meet and learn from the great Hermana R! I will think of her every time I see and hear the Mormon Tabernacle Choir sing.  Heavenly Father surely knows where to send His missionaries.

Pearl Harbor Day 2011

-My goals: 2 down, 3 to go! I'm so stoked! I'll post pictures when I've completed them ...or I'll post at least one of them ;)
-I hung out with Mr. Red last night. I told him that we needed to talk.  There was something on my mind that I needed to be open about.  It's something that I never wanted to address, but I needed to finally tell him about it. My pride and vanity were always stopping me.  I rehearsed what I was going to say and even went over it with my best friend.  In the end, he was the same caring Mr. Red and I made a big deal out of nothing.  It was such a relief because I even stuffed my pockets full of kleenex cause I predicted A LOT of tears. So now, this man knows me just as well as my lifelong best friend, Bugs. Sometimes it scares me because I've known Bugs my whole life and I've only known Mr. Red for the last year and a half.  It's easy to be open with him [excluding the above situation] and he reads me so well. He just gets me. SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGH! Oh this man........
-I received 2 callings, this past Sunday. One of them is the assistant ward bulletin (person? specialist? whatever it's called) and the other I'm REALLY stoked/nervous about! I'll blog more about that after Sunday.  I can't wait!
-I'm really enjoying my job! I love what it's about and just the ambience of work. It's fun, chill and I feel like I'm making a difference in people's lives.
-Can I just say, I'm LOOOOOOOOVING Robin Thicke's new album, Love After War?!?  It's chill & sensual...such a great combo! "Dangerous" is my faaaaave! HOT!
-I had a work meeting with Mulligan today.  I found out from a friend that he's kinda interested in some chick who lives in AZ. Eh, that's cool...whatevers.  Mulligan's really nice and sometimes I get SO nervous talking to him. Damn, those baby blues! ;)
-BTW, I LOVED Inception! Such a TRIPPY/AWESOME movie!! Plus, it didn't hurt to watch it on Blu-ray...especially 4 feet away from the screen.  I can't wait to watch it again!
-I heard from Ras!!! Awww, Ras! He sounds so positive and he's already changing (for better). I miss him but I know he's exactly where he needs to be right now.  I can't wait til Hermanita comes home in 6 months!!! YAAAAAAAAY!!!!
-Tomorrow's Thursday. Oh I love me some Thursday! HAPPY THURSDAY!

Goals: Before & During 2012!

As I was lying awake in my bed at 3am, this morning, I started to think of some of the things I would like to accomplish before 2012 and during 2012.  Just so I can reflect back on it, I thought I'd post it here.

BEFORE 2012: (so basically, within the next 29 days--TOTALLY doable!)
  • Watch Inception.
  • Go to the top of the Hyatt hotel.  (It's 40 floors up and has a beautiful view of SD...from what I hear)
  • Eat Pho.
  • Read another book.
  • Eat at Bronx Pizza.
I really want to do all of those before 2012.  Luckily, Mr. Red just bought the Blu-ray version of Inception off of Amazon, so that goal will be completed soon. When my nephew, Bub/Kea, comes to visit we'll FINALLY go eat at Bronx. As for the others... I'm thinking of asking Oeste out to either Pho or the Hyatt..or both? :) We'll see.

DURING 2012: My "12 in 12" goals! (It's still a work in progress, this is what I have so far)
  1. Visit Maui.
  2. Get my passport.
  3. Pursue a relationship.
  4. See my best friend StephyPooh & Britty.
  5. Finish Les Miserables.
  6. Find out what's so great about running/jogging {by doing it myself...pray for me.}
So that's where I'm at, so far......  I'm really stoked for these goals.  I love the sense of accomplishment! Besides, it's good to work towards something...that's the point to this life, right? :) Good luck to me!

"Comfortable friends"

Sometimes it's really, REALLY nice to turn your phone off for the day.

And other times, it's really, REALLY nice to have some of your "comfortable friends" around you.
Today, I really, REALLY miss CC & Hermanita. I miss them so much!!
I wish I could spend the day lounging around in pajamas watching chick flicks with CC.
I wish I were in Hermanita's car, just talking with her til 6am.
I miss them so much today.
I wish more of my "comfortable friends" lived close by.
I'm grateful for the "comfortable friends" that bless my life.  Those heaven sent angels that know me to the core and I never feel the need to explain stuff because they just get it.

In the meanwhile...these occupied my time.......

Movie...Marriage....Mmmm?

”We need a witness to our lives. There's a billion people on the planet, what does any one life really mean? But in a marriage, you're promising to care about everything. The good things, the bad things, the terrible things, the mundane things, all of it, all of the time, every day. You're saying 'Your life will not go unnoticed because I will notice it. Your life will not go unwitnessed because I will be your witness'." -Shall We Dance.

I have a lot on my mind. I have marriage weighing heavy on my thoughts.  I hung out and watched a movie with Mr. Red the other night.  He sent me home with a movie to watch.  It was a suspenseful movie about a husband who witnesses the murder of his wife.  There was a part in the movie when the husband reaches over to his wife's side of the bed. Upon noticing that it's cold, he realizes that she's been out of bed for a while.  It made me think and long for that.  Last night, I texted my friend FishLips and told him that I feel the most single (not married) at night and wondered if he ever felt the same.  He agreed. We went back and forth on this for a while. I told him that a bed feels too big without someone, near by.  Then he replied, "I just like knowing that I have a partner, a friend, someone who loves me nearby."  Ain't that the truth....
As I was writing in my journal this morning, I flipped by an entry of a movie quote that I love,
"But love is passion, obsession, someone you can't live without.  I say, fall head over heels, find someone you can love like crazy and who'll love you the same way back.  How do you find them? Well, you forget your head and you listen to your heart... Cause the truth is there's no sense living your life without this.  To make the journey and not fall deeply in love, well, you haven't lived a life at all.  But you have to try, cause if you haven't tried, you haven't lived."

Oh Love.... I love you so much.

10 Day YOU Challenge: tres.

{3} The Godfather
It's a classic! It has a lil bit of everything (romance, family loyalty, action) plus young Al Pacino & Robert DeNiro are way HOT!!

((2)) The Holiday
Probably my #1 favorite "chick flick"! Makes me laugh EVERY time!! Love it! Jack Black's a riot, Jude Law's pretty to look at and his accent's just so delicious and Cameron Diaz's house is perfect for me!

<1> Paradise, Hawaiian Style
I can guarantee that 1% of my friends has maybe watched this movie. It's not a popular Elvis Presley movie, but some of it was filmed at the Polynesian Cultural Center in Laie, Hawaii.  My Dad was a Labor Missionary there at the time and was an extra in the movie. He helped paddle the canoe that Elvis was in and you can see my Dad for a good minute or two.  If you ever watch it, he's the one that waved at the camera. My Dad, he's such an amateur! :)
**Wow! Love Youtube! I found it! He's the paddler sitting next to the girl in the canoe.  And he waves during 2:47. Oh my Dad...Everytime I watch this scene, it makes my heart swell and I love him even more!

Thor/Montana/Cloning...in that order.

THOR: OH I LOVED IT!!!! We saw it in 3-D, wasn't quite necessary, but it was the only showing at that hour.  Man, Thor is HOT HOT HOT!!!! Those muscles, that voice...HOOOOOOOOT, SO HOT!!!  I can't wait til Captain America comes out!! OH MAN!! It just gets better!

MONTANA:  I loved spending time with him. I forget how much I like him when we haven't seen each other for a while.  It was so nice, I had a WONDERFUL time at the movies!

CLONING:  I've chosen to write my controversial paper on Cloning...as in FOR Cloning.  Oh yeah, that's gonna go over real well with my Mormon BYU-I instructor.  This topic came from a debate thread I had in a previous assignment. I had to choose to play 'devil's advocate' for a topic, and Cloning seemed like the least controversial, at the time.  With all the research I had to do for it, it became a topic that really sparked my interest!  Cloning isn't such a crazy idea, as most people would believe. There are SOME benefits to it.  I don't necessarily have to believe in the topic 100%, I just have to prove my point on paper (at least 2-3 pages), with good grammar and within MLA format....all by 10:55p PST. :]

TODAY: Homework, homework & more homework.

TOMORROW: Good things, several good things

Friday, May 20, 2011

Friday Nite means.....

I'll be seeing Montana tonight.
We're going to see:
in 3-D...I'm pretty stoked!!

Ok, now back to homework....lots and lots and lots of homework!

5 for FIVE:

Reasons #1 & 2:
HOT & HOT!!!
The Rock looked AMAZINGLY HOT with all of his muscles and deliciousness!!
Vin Diesel...Smooth, just SMOOOTH!!  His voice, his sly looks...EVERYTHING about him is just HOT!!

Reason #3:
I want to see the Cristo Redentor and take a picture with it.  I'd also like to see the view from this hilltop.  Brasil would be beautiful to check out, as well as fun during Carnival

Reason #4:
THE CARS!!!
I've always loved watching the cars, the races and chases!! I always feel the need for speed after watching Fast/Furious movies!!
(Dom Torreto: "I'm a boy who appreciates a good body, regardless of the make.")

Reason #5:
Vin Diesel/"Dominic Torreto"...STILL. SO. DAMN. HOT.!!  He's just so manly!!  That glare...those muscles....that voice...the way he handles a car--it gets me EVERY time!!!

Scary Movie = Good Times

Went to see Insidious with some friends and Captain.

My gosh that man is just devastatingly handsome!!

Such soft soft skin....and a body that does not need to drink milk!

I'm so glad we're friends.

:)

p.s. GREAT scary movie.  LOVED IT!!
